Marketing Apprentice | Commercial Team
Start date: March 2013
Do you have an eye for detail? Do you have natural organisational flair? Do you think you have what it takes to support a really busy filmmaking team?
We are looking for someone to take on a very exciting apprenticeship with Light Films!
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop in the film production industry be supporting the team through various projects that will be running at any one time.
The Role:
Marketing independent films for distribution, including submission to film festivals
Preparation of Social Media (i.e. Twitter and Facebook etc)
Market research through polls and Survey Monkey.
Collation of various research data.
Helping with press releases - sending them out and following them up.
Attending seminars and events.
Arranging seminars and events - preparing the rooms with name badges, delegate packs and welcome drinks.
Administration duties that support this role will include: emails, letters, social media, internet research.
The role will vary on a daily basis but you will work as the assistant to one of the team members and therefore be a vital support in all running projects. The role will need you to use your initiative and be confident in your duties. The role will also require a need for you to make prospective calls to potential clients.
Skills Required
You will need to be able to take instruction well and put new skills into practice.
You will need to be creative and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
You must be organised and able to prioritise your work load.
Typing experience is an advantage and have a good ability to communicate with all types of people.
The role requires the successful individual to be clean and tidy, have good written skills, well spoken and have good analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
Qualifcations Required
No formal entry requirements are needed as full training will be given. However it is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to achieve Level 1 Application of Number and Communication as this is a compulsory part of the framework. GCSE maths and English (or equivalent) are advantageous as evidence of these will exempt you from sitting the key skills tests. GCSE grades A-C or equivalent would be an advantage.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is bright, friendly and has good confidence around new people.
Someone who will think around a problem and be happy to speak up with new ideas.
Reality Check
This is a responsible position where business owners will be relying on you to complete all tasks set, be on time and willing to work hard. You may need to attend evening events and some weekend ones too.
Salary, Hours & Qualifications
This role is based over 30 hours per week, and you will earn approximately £2.65ph as well as achieving an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Marketing Assistant

Are you studying marketing or business? Do you want to gain some hands-on experience where you can apply your learning?
We are looking for someone to take on a very exciting work experience/internship with Light Films!
The Role:
Marketing independent film productions
Co-ordination of social media
Research and analysis
Press release development and co-ordination
Skills Required
If you have a flare for business, a real eye for detail, a natural ability to spot an opportunity and the ability to think outside the box then we want to hear from you.
Qualifcations Required
No formal qualifications are required, but if you have English Language and Literature GCSEs (A-C) and are studying towards a marketing or business qualification you will have a distinct advantage.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is bright, friendly and has good confidence around new people. You must have a creative flair with great confidence in your written skills and marketing ideas.
Salary, Hours & Qualifications
The role is a work experience (voluntary) placement, but the Directors are happy to offer expenses and extensive on-the-job education in exchange for commitment and enthusiasm. The hours will be to suit the student; we are more than happy to work around current studies, increasing the experience hours during holiday periods if desired.
