‘The King Goes Gaga' is a film that was created during a six week after school club. The students were aged from 7 to 11 and all attended Chellaston Infants and Junior schools. This film includes singing, scripting, acting and dancing, which has all been produced by the students.
Synopsis
During the six week after school club, a group of pupils were set the challenge of writing, singing and producing a film that was based on the Theme Fairytales and Pantomimes. The students chose different school locations for the settings, and brought in their own costumes.
Production Notes
After looking at many different Fairytales and Pantomimes and discussing their favourites, the students worked on the storyline encorporating 'jokes' into the scenes to make it comical.
After creating a very imaginative storyline, the students storyboarded the scenes and scripted them.
They then auditioned for the parts that they wanted to play and thought about the settings within the school and the props that they could use for the filming.
Weeks five and six of the course, students took it in turns when they weren't on set to film, direct and produce the scenes.
