potential

Potential is the first film produced in 2010 by Light Films.  After wowing audiences of over 180 at each of the film premieres in 2009, there was pressure on the producers of Potential to come up with something far more ambitious to continue to better the previous productions.

In February 2010, over 30 film crew and cast from all over the UK packed up their sleeping bags and headed to the wintry wonderland of South Wales.  Sleeping in a fantastically newly renovated 'scout hut' in the Cynon Valley, the cast and crew bonded well and the film was incredibly well prepared and was filmed with minimal hitches.

synopsis

John has never really fitted in. He's never been academic and has always been picked on for his rugged looks. Boxing is his one shot at making something of himself; it's his one chance to shine.

Meeting Eva, an expired wine bar singer who has a lot in common with John, forces him to change the way he thinks about his life.  Damaged by a violent past, Eva will not get involved with anybody like him; a young athlete with lots of potential... Within boxing.

With the fight of his life approaching, John is wracked with guilt because of his career choice but desperately wants Eva's support.... But will he get it?
