The Directors
Owen Tooth studied Film and Video Production at the University of Derby, graduating with a first. Upon leaving, he directed several internationally award- winning short films and went into advertising. He has many wedding videos, short films, adverts, music videos and corporate films under his belt.
Primarily a director and cinematographer, Owen also frequently turns his hand to editing.
Tom Wadlow studied Film and Video Production at the University of Derby. He then went on to study film for a year in America on the grounds of Universal Studios. Since then, he has set up Light Film’s sister company in Los Angeles, which is thriving.
How we work:
At Light Films, we pride ourselves on our shooting style.
From an artistic film making background, stemming from a Degree in Film and Video, we know a good shot and how to get one.
Our directors' films have been shown internationally at festivals from Hollywood to Barcelona and back. From World War I drama (The Trench) at Leith Short Film Festival to abstract horror (Conceptual) at Sci Fi short film festival in Hollywood LA, USA, in the OFFICIAL SELECTION.
We have worked as professionals in the industry and know how to make people look good; simple tricks other people tend to forget which make all the difference.
We don't employ the sorts of cheesy effects you saw 20 years ago; we make videos which are clean, elegant, modern and most of all, romantic.
We don't cut corners and it shows.
We have simple shooting ethics; After watching time after time as photographers control every aspect of the Wedding Day to the point where the couple's memories become limited to a series of poses for the camera, we came up with one simple rule which we think you'll like:
We do not get in the way.
We're there to record the most important day in your life. We're not there to control it. Enjoy yourselves and let us help you to remember those feelings forever!
